Depression and Wellbeing

Our Depression and Wellbeing Workshop will help you to recognise, understand, and learn techniques to manage low mood and depression. In this workshop you will gain an understanding of depression and how this can impact day to day functioning. We will look at the role of unhelpful behaviours and how to change these to improve mood. We will also look at how to challenge negative thoughts that maintain low mood and depression.

Worry and Wellbeing

The Worry and Wellbeing Workshop focuses on how to manage worry. It will help you to recognise when worrying becomes unhelpful and how this may impact on your mental health. It will then consider different techniques and coping mechanisms to help you manage your worries better.

The video below has more information about the worry and wellbeing workshop delivered here at Talking Therapies. Please note, we were previously called IAPT before Talking Therapies.

Sleep and Wellbeing

If you are experiencing problems with your sleep, this workshop is the best place to start.

The Sleep and Wellbeing Workshop helps you recognise, understand, and explore your current sleep routine. In this workshop we will look at common causes of sleep problems, how they are maintained, and what we can do to address them. You will gain an understanding of sleep and its function in our daily lives, along with common misconceptions surrounding sleep. We will also look at sleep hygiene methods and techniques to help you regain control of your body clock.

Relaxation and Wellbeing

If stress prevents you from knowing which way to turn, then start to develop your self-awareness here. Whether you see relaxation as the body and mind being free from tension or a way to lower feelings of anxiety and low mood, this workshop is about guiding you towards achieving this. We will teach you four different evidence-based relaxation techniques: progressive muscle relaxation, diaphragmatic breathing, visualisation, and mindfulness breathing. You will learn how and why they work and be able to test out which technique you find most beneficial.

This workshop compliments the other workshops available, especially if you are looking to target specific areas associated with common mental health problems, such as trouble sleeping and worry.

Menopause and Wellbeing

The menopause is a completely natural part of life for women. However, we know these changes can have an immense impact on both physical and mental wellbeing, while there is still taboo around the subject as well as many common misunderstandings.

Our menopause workshop will empower attendees with information around a variety of menopause symptoms, plus tips on how to manage your wellbeing better during this time.

This workshop complements the other workshops available in our service, which are listed above. For instance, if you’re looking to target specific areas associated with the menopause, such as low mood, trouble sleeping and worry.

Living Well with your Pain and Fatigue

Living with pain and fatigue can cause us to feel low, anxious, stressed or frustrated. We may find we lose our self-worth or identity and feel unable to accept the person we have become since being diagnosed with a long-term condition. Physical health conditions can also impact on our ability to work, our financial situation and a possible misunderstanding from the people around us.

This workshop helps you to recognise the link between your mental and physical health and understand what might be maintaining the problems between the two. By considering different coping strategies to help your mental wellbeing, this can allow you to gain hope in managing your pain and fatigue better.

The workshop will offer an introduction to skills that can improve your wellbeing whilst living with pain and fatigue, and provide a taster of treatment with the Doncaster Long-Term Conditions Service.
