Employment Support

At NHS Doncaster Talking Therapies, we offer a free and impartial employment support service.

Whether you’re currently employed, seeking employment or signed off sick, our employment advisors can offer personalised support to enable you to remain in work, find work or return to work.

We offer regular one to one appointments and these can take place face to face, over the telephone or via video call.

The Talking Therapies employment team can help you with a range of work related matters, including:

  • Person-centred employment support.
  • Discussing and planning your return-to-work options after a period of absence.
  • Recognising and understanding your employment rights.
  • Searching for employment, education, and training opportunities.
  • Support and guidance with writing your CV or completing a job application.
  • Support with interview advice, guidance, and skills.
  • Helping you to effectively communicate your needs and concerns with your employer.
  • Developing your confidence in the workplace.
  • Advice on identifying reasonable adjustments at work.
  • Advice on discussing mental health with your employer.
  • Signposting you to appropriate organisations to access additional advice and assistance.

How do I access Talking Therapies employment support?

If you’re accessing the Talking Therapies service, you are able to book in with our Employment Advisor team.

Your Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) will ask you about employment support in your initial assessment. If you think you would benefit from employment support, please let your PWP know and they will book you in with an advisor.
