We understand that not everyone wants to access their appointments the same way. Some people may want to have a face-to-face appointment, while others may not be able to get to one of our venues or may just prefer to be in the comfort of their own home. At NHS Rotherham Talking Therapies, we offer a range of options to suit you. Your treatment will be the same, whichever way you choose to speak to your clinician.
Face to face
Our face-to-face therapy sessions take place at venues across your local area. These can be community centres, GP surgeries or even libraries. If you choose face-to-face appointments, we will find you your closest or preferred venue.
Telephone
You can choose to have your appointment over the phone. Your clinician will call you up at your appointment time. It’s best if you can find a quiet place where you would be happy to talk openly and where you are unlikely to be disturbed.
Video call
Your appointment can take place via video call. Your clinician will call you over Teams or Zoom at your appointment time. You will need access to a computer/laptop/phone/tablet etc with a camera that you use for your appointments. It’s best if you can find a quiet place to have your video call, where you would be happy to talk openly and where you are unlikely to be disturbed. Please also ensure you’re appropriately dressed for your appointment, as you will be required to have your camera on for the session.
Text messaging (eClinic)
Therapy can take place via our messaging service. It takes place within a secure app, to ensure your messages and conversation with your therapist remains fully confidential. It is similar to text messaging and will take place at your agreed appointment time.
